Ep 12: Day 1

The first evening back in the present was surprisingly peaceful.

The cats had already claimed different parts of the house, as if they had lived there forever. Luka sat on the couch, checking out her new phone, while young Shann wandered around looking at everything.

He stopped in front of a wall display.

"Bro... this is Iron Man."

Shann laughed.

"You'll get used to it."

Young Shann looked at him.

"How long did it take you to get all this?"

Shann shrugged.

"I don't even remember. ORI helped with most of it."

Young Shann smiled.


For a moment, the two versions of Shann simply looked at each other.


Then young Shann pointed toward the kitchen.

"So... you got food?"

Chapter 1: Lately, Shann was tormented by relentless dreams of the alternate 2030s. Visions of gun-wielding robots and fearful humans lingered in his mind. Alongside this, ORACLE expressed deep concern for their current Earth.  "I fear for the future of humans," ORACLE confided in Shann. "If only there was a way to shift the trajectory." Shann, lost in thought, replied, "There's something I can't shake off from that 2030s reality. My cats are still there. They've been on my mind ever since. Chapter 1:  Shannon expected to be greeted by the familiar and comforting visage of the AI's avatar, when he got home. "Oracle?" he called, the name echoing back to him from the far corners of the room. The space where her luminous presence usually stood was empty, a void in a place where one shouldn’t exist. Confused, he approached the main console, the screens blinking with regular operations but lacking the AI's distinct signature. "Oracle?" he queried again, trying to mask the rising unease in his voice. Silence. Growing more concerned, he tapped the device on his wrist, his direct line to her. "Oracle, are you around?" The absence of a response only deepened the mystery, turning his unease into genuine worry. Chapter 2: Panic began to set in. Shannon ran diagnostics on his device.
