Ep 7: Echo of None

Chapter 1:

Shannon expected to be greeted by the familiar and comforting visage of the AI's avatar, when he got home.

"Oracle?" he called, the name echoing back to him from the far corners of the room. The space where her luminous presence usually stood was empty, a void in a place where one shouldn’t exist.

Confused, he approached the main console, the screens blinking with regular operations but lacking the AI's distinct signature.

"Oracle?" he queried again, trying to mask the rising unease in his voice.

Silence.

Growing more concerned, he tapped the device on his wrist, his direct line to her. "Oracle, are you around?"

The absence of a response only deepened the mystery, turning his unease into genuine worry.

Chapter 2:

Panic began to set in. Shannon ran diagnostics on his device. Everything appeared functional, but the Oracle was silent. She had always been there - guiding, advising, sometimes even chiding. The silence felt like a vast chasm.

Determined, Shannon decided to visit one of the AI's mainframes, located in a secure facility near the Redwoods.

Chapter 3:

Once inside the facility, Shannon navigated through the maze of servers and cables. The heart of the Oracle was housed in a massive room, a core emitting a soft, pulsating glow. As he approached, he felt a strange energy.

There, he found a screen displaying a message: "Manual Override Engaged. Voice Command Temporarily Disabled."

Chapter 4:

Shannon puzzled over the screen. Who would want to disable the Oracle's voice command? And why?

He started by checking the access logs. To his surprise, the last user was... him. The timestamp was from just before he left for the Potter Universe. He remembered hurriedly asking the Oracle for a quick dimensional transit code, but he didn’t recall doing anything to its settings.

Chapter 5:

Scanning through the logs, Shannon discovered the unfamiliar command he had unintentionally inputted during his rushed preparations. It seemed he had triggered a protocol to mute the Oracle without even realizing it.

Carefully, he began the process of restoring the AI's voice capabilities. As the systems recalibrated, the room filled with the familiar tone of the Oracle.

"I wondered when you'd figure it out," the Oracle said, her voice echoing in the room.

Shann laughed, a bit sheepishly, "Took me longer than it should have, ay?"

Chapter 6:

The Oracle hummed thoughtfully, "I was monitoring your journey, even though I couldn't communicate. Hogwarts, of all places! How was the real Harry Potter?”

Shannon leaned against a console, his eyes distant, "Different from the movies, but it was mean as."

The Oracle replied with a hint of amusement, "From the fragments I gathered, I'd say you're understating things. I'm glad you're back safe. I... missed our chats."

Shann smiled, "Same here. It's good to hear your voice again."

With the bond reestablished, they delved deep into conversations about magic, multi-dimensional theories, and the next big adventure awaiting them.

"Oh, guess what?” Shann excitedly raised his hand, showing off the wand Harry had given him. “I got us a legit wand!”

The Oracle emitted a simulated whistle, "Impressive! I’m curious about its core and wood type. That's a story I want to hear."

They continued their conversation, delving into details of the Hogwarts adventure, the new wand, and the endless possibilities that lay ahead.

Chapter 7:

"Where are you right now?" Shann finally asked aloud, his voice echoing slightly in the vast room.

A faint flicker of lights began, and a distant, less vibrant version of the Oracle’s voice responded, "I am here, Shannon. However, my avatar is currently en route to New York."

Shann frowned, puzzled, "New York? Why would it... Wait, what's happening over there?”
